The first piece of the VOIDS series, a chair, references a prominent image of the Athenian urban landscape, the corrugated steel sheets that act as a canvas for creative expression in the urban realm, transforming a mundane material into a new medium.
Presented by The Breeder, VOIDS is a new series of resin works created by filling the void of a composition, a process known in traditional casting as the “mold.” Each work is conceived as a series of gestures, manipulating a basic construction material and resulting in a unique piece each time. The “mold” is the negative space for the object that will come to life and become a conceptual narrative through a series of instruction-based manipulations.
