In 2022, the studio expanded its practice with the opening of a resin fabrication workshop in Piraeus, Greece, reaffirming their commitment to artisanal craftsmanship and human-centered design. The idea behind the start of this workshop was to give them the freedom to experiment with materials and processes, while remaining deeply connected to the hands-on aspects of creation.
Set within an industrial space in the Piraeus zone of Athens, the workshop operates as both a production site and a research environment dedicated to resin casting. It all started a few years ago when Eleni had the great fortune to meet the master craftsman and artisan Ovidiu Colea.
Ovidiu owned a resin workshop in Long Island City, New York, and was tirelessly dedicated to researching new techniques, technologies, and material recipes. When he decided to retire, the studio accepted the challenge and relocated his machinery to a two-story, 800 square meter building.
The main vision was to continue Ovidiu’s legacy with a deep appreciation for artisanal craft and techniques. After bringing together makers with experience in resin, Ovidiu traveled to Greece to lead an intensive workshop, sharing his knowledge and emphasizing a human-centered approach to the process of creation.
Alongside this, the workshop embraces a circular approach to material use, where resin is continuously reintroduced into new castings, forming an ongoing cycle of reuse. This process not only minimizes waste but also contributes to a distinct and evolving material identity. The workshop proposes an alternative way of thinking about making, one that embraces the living nature of the material and its responsiveness to temperature, light, and time.
  • CAST RESIN

A hands-on casting process that embraces the fluid and responsive nature of resin, allowing form, light, and material to interact through controlled yet experimental techniques.

  • OPAL Lucite Resin

A premium form of high-quality resin that can be tinted to any color and transparency depth. Exceptional clarity, high impact resistance, and UV stability. It is shatter-resistant, lightweight, and resistant to weathering.

  • Mineral Powder Resin

A composite material that can appear natural white, solid pigmented, painted, or varnished, offering a wide range of finishes. It is hard yet lightweight, highly durable, UV-resistant, and flame-retardant, making it suitable for both interior and exterior applications.

  • RECYCLE RESIN

We explore recycling in our process. The resin we use is 100% recyclable, leftover material, test pieces, and offcuts are reduced and reused to create new forms. We are waste-effective and find new creative directions through reuse and transformation.
