Soft & Tender Topographies introduces a composed landscape of contrasting textures and materialities, exploring balance, pressure, and inner connectivity. Developed for Valextra’s historic Milan flagship store, the installation brings soft inflated forms into dialogue with hard Greek white marble, creating a quiet tension between elasticity and solidity.
A continuous topography of black inflatables forms gentle, bloated islands that cradle marble pedestals throughout the space. The stone, bright and luminous, subtly recalls Valextra’s iconic pergamena color, while the curved forms introduce a softer spatial language that resonates with the brand’s refined balance between supple leather and precise construction.
Light shifts across the different surfaces, absorbed by the inflatables and reflected by the marble, allowing the objects displayed throughout the store to acquire a new physical presence. Toward the back of the space, translucent gel stools extend the landscape into an inhabitable environment, offering a moment of stillness within the rhythm of the city.
