Sky-Line is a large-scale interactive public installation presented at the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec (MNBAQ) as part of the TD Public Art Walk 2017. Developed in collaboration with our sibling studio, LOT Office for Architecture, the project explores how spatial structures can foster collective experience and redefine the perception of public space.
The installation consists of a series of white-painted steel arches forming an open, rhythmic galleria. Integrated LED lighting runs along each arch, creating a gradual transition from day to night and establishing a strong visual presence both at ground level and from afar. Suspended white net hammocks introduce a softer, human scale, inviting visitors to rest, gather, and engage with their surroundings in a more intimate way.
By encouraging pause, interaction, and contemplation, Sky-Line transforms its context into a shared environment for social exchange and sensory experience.
