The Theater of Things

The Theater of Things is a group exhibition conceived as a living environment, where collectible design and everyday life merge into a continuous, performative experience. Curated by Valentina Ciuffi and Joseph Grima, the exhibition transforms the gallery into a temporary domestic space inhabited by designers throughout Milan Design Week.

Within this evolving setting, two works are presented: The Holy Mountain, developed in collaboration with ODA, and Lithos III.

The Holy Mountain takes the form of a monolithic pink resin volume that conceals a dual function within. Splitting open along a precise seam, it reveals a bar cabinet on one side and a listening device on the other, integrating sound as an essential component of the object. What appears solid and immovable becomes adaptable and performative, shifting through space and use. The piece explores the tension between permanence and transformation, object and experience, functioning both as a sculptural presence and an immersive device.

Lithos stools translate the language of natural rock formations into translucent resin objects. Designed for sitting, resting, or placing objects, they emit a soft glow as light passes through their mass, blurring the boundary between the artificial and the geological.

Presented within a space that oscillates between home and exhibition, the works participate in a broader reflection on how design is lived with, performed, and continuously redefined through daily rituals and interactions.
