Philip Chair
gel, stainless steel
Dining chair, Armchair, and Bar stool
Bringing senses into play, an elemental seating form, the four-legged chair, is an invitation to rethink and explore the seating for a unique gastronomic experience. After a year of intellectual stimulation, exchange of ideas, moments of connection, and fermentation, Objects of Common Interest created the formation and textures of the Philip chair, as an homage to the collector-owner.

A rigid stainless steel structural frame is draped with a flexible, custom-cast semi-transparent gel layer creating a visual and sensory illusion from the contrasting materials. The metal element ensures the robustness of the piece, while the gel provides soothing and softness, revealing the structure underneath through its semi-translucency.
