Studio
Objects of Common Interest, founded by Eleni Petaloti and Leonidas Trampoukis, is a research and design studio focused on creating still life installations, experiential environments, and objects that explore materiality, conceptual depth, and tangible spatial experiences. Their work is characterized by a fascination with the balance between lasting impact and ephemerality, blending abstract concepts with layers of meaning to create moments of unfamiliar simplicity, sculptural expression, and structural articulation.
Rooted in the diverse cultural landscapes of Greece and New York, the studio’s practice fluidly shifts between formal precision and intuitive creativity, embracing the handmade, tactile, experimental, and poetic. This dynamic approach fosters a unique amalgamation of thinking and making, resulting in projects ranging from product design collaborations to large-scale public installations, exclusive collections with galleries, and research-based commissions.
In 2022, the studio expanded its practice with the opening of a resin fabrication workshop in Piraeus, Greece, reaffirming their commitment to artisanal craftsmanship and human-centered design. The idea behind the start of this workshop was to give them the freedom to experiment with materials and processes, while remaining deeply connected to the hands-on aspects of creation.
Objects of Common Interest continues to explore the intersection of art, design, and spatial experiences, collaborating with companies, institutions and galleries. Eleni and Leonidas are founding partners of sibling studio LOT office for architecture.
