Forms of Volume

Installation
Lexus Garage

Drawing from abstract notions and terms such as volume, light, softness, hardness, we draw organic geometric shapes, curved shells, lightweight and hollow, seemingly soft – hard seating, and illusionistic cushioned hard surface monoliths reminiscent of captured moments of car bodies, or luxury curves of interior dashboards. Playful inventive juxtapositions of standalone parts form sculptural totems, organic seating amalgamations and further more compact lounge assemblages. An installation that invites flexible configurations and suggests improvised seating modes away from pre-established notions to inspire conversations, interaction, visual stimulation. Each seating object in the collection is assembled by narrow strips of treated hardwood in a highly textural and geometric way, revealing an intense materiality and detail. Resulting is a still life installation of simple and elegant volumetric objects, luxurious materiality and durability. Creativity plays a significant role in transforming the pre-set notion of what a seating is into a playful, spatial installation.
